- Things to do in September
- Cove's Secret Project

* COVE ON CAMPUS

Hey you! You, with the backback and the coffee mug! Did you know that you can
do more than just sit around drinking beer during the University of Alberta's Week
of Welcome? On Thursday, September 7, at 2:45pm, you're invited to check out
Cove live in "Quad". Oh, and I guess you can still have a beer too if you want...see
you outside on the second day of classes!

* COVE'S CALGARY BLOWOUT!

...and we aren't even kidding. The Cove van experienced a slight, er, tire
problem on our recent trip to Calgary - luckily, thanks to the life-saving
driving of violinist Jeremy "Nerves of Steel" Tusz, disaster was averted and
we even made it to our sound check! Thanks to Jacquie and everybody at the U
of C Grad Lounge for a great time! We'll be back soon, so all Calgarians
should keep your web browsers tuned to www.coveworld.net/cove/concerts.html.

* THINGS TO DO IN SEPTEMBER

Speaking of concerts, we're doing a whole bunch of them this month. Here's
the rundown:

"Instruments of Change"
-----------------------
The Annual Change for Children Fundraiser/Silent Auction
Saturday, September 9 at 8pm
at the Arts Barns (10330-84 Ave.)
with The Kit Kat Trio, Los Caminantes, Kris Demeanor,
Wajjo Drummers, and COVE!

We hope you can all come to this gig and support a great cause - and see
Cove play at our biggest headlining show ever. Tickets are $12 in advance
(at Blackbyrd, Earth's General Store, and Orlando Books) and $15 at the
door - a steal of a deal for a great night of music. It's even all ages,
so bring your little brother...

Other upcoming September dates:
-------------------------------
September 15 & 16, 9pm both nights
Bo Diddley's in Red Deer - our Red Deer debut!

September 22 & 23, 9pm both nights
The Highrun Club in Edmonton (4926 98th Avenue)

* COVE'S SECRET PROJECT (shhhh!)

Preliminary work has begun on our top secret promotional EP, our secret
weapon against the "Celtic Rock" pigeonhole we sometimes fall into. Stay
tuned for more information on this project, as well as a chance at
preordering it and getting your name forever inscribed upon the great wall of
history...or at least in our liner notes.

That's the update this month! Hope all the students out there are ready for yet another year of fun and studying, and see you all soon!

Lots of love,

-Matt and the fabulous Coves
