Eberron is a world unlike other worlds. In Eberron, practical magic is widespread and commoditized, but truly powerful mages are rare. Clerics are remarkable miracle-workers, not healers-for-hire. Members of the heroic classes are generally rarer, and friendly NPCs are likely to be less powerful than PCs.

Eberron creator Keith Baker described these issues in one of his first Dragonshards articles, Demographics. Based on the information included in this article, statistics presented in the Eberron Campaign Setting book, and a few logical assumptions, forum member Takasi programmed the following demographics generator. To use it, simply input a population and select a region. The generator will populate with the number of members of each class that you're likely to find in a community of that size.
