Species
Selkath
The Selkath are the dominant sentient species of Manaan, a small aquatic
planet in the Pyrshak system. Though Manaan is far from the Core and
does not lie in the path of any major hyperspace lanes, its status
as the sole exporter of Kolto healing fluid proved pivotal during
conflicts between the Jedi and Sith during the height of the Old Republic.
The
Selkaths’ marine origin is obvious in their appearance, which suggests
an evolutionary heritage of amphibians or undersea mammals. They
possess thee-fingered hands and fin-like feet. Their rubbery, mottled
hides are most often blue or gray.
While
Selkath personalities range as widely as those of Humans, they have
a tendency toward arrogance. They possess an awareness of their
surroundings and a reputation as skilled healers. Most Selkath live
their entire lives beneath the waves on Manaan, but some residents
of Ahto City find their way off-planet and on to more adventurous
lives.

Feats
Armor Optimization
You know how to make the most of partial armor, positioning your body so
attacks glance off your most protected regions.
Prerequisite: Dexterity 13, Armor Proficiency (Light).
Benefit: When wearing light armor, you gain a +1 Dodge bonus to
Defense.
Conditioning
Your experience has taught you to be tough, quick and wily.
Prerequisite: Character level 5th.
Benefit: You get a +1 synergy bonus to Fortitude, Reflex and Will
saving throws.
Dueling
You have studied fencing techniques and are most comfortable when fighting
with a single one-handed weapon.
Prerequisites: Dexterity 13, Intelligence 13, Combat Expertise.
Benefit: You gain a +1 bonus to Attack rolls and a +1 dodge bonus
to defense when wielding a single melee weapon one-handed. You cannot gain
this bonus if you are using an off-hand weapon. You cannot apply the
one-and-a-half times your Strength bonus to damage that you normally get
from using a one-handed weapon two-handed.
Flurry
You can use melee weapons with exceptional quickness.
Prerequisites: Base attack bonus +4, Quick Draw.
Benefit: You can get one extra attack per round with a melee
weapon. The attack is at your highest base attack bonus, but each attack
(the extra one and the normal ones) has a -4 penalty. You must use a
full-round action to use this feat.
Linguist
You are a student of languages, capable of learning new tongues at an
extraordinary rate. Your knowledge of galactic linguistics and
xenoetymology gives you the chance to understand a language even if
you’ve never heard it before.
Prerequisites: Intelligence 15, Read/Write Language (any five);
Speak Language (any five).
Benefits: When you spend skill points to purchase a new Read/Write
Language skill, you gain the corresponding Speak Language skill for free.
When you experience a form of communication for the first time, you may
make an Intelligence check to determine if you can identify and understand
the language. The DC is based on the number of languages you know; for
example, an attempt to read a datapad in an unknown language is based on
the number of Read/Write Language skills you possess.
| Number
of Read/Write or Speak Language Skills |

Succeeding at this check for Read/Write
Language grants a +5 to any subsequent check to understand the
corresponding Speak Language skill (and vice-versa). If you succeed at
this check, you can understand the new language and use it (as an obvious
novice) until the next time you gain a level. At that time, your knowledge
of the language is lost unless you spend a skill point to purchase it.
