These saddle-bill storks were the first to breed in the US, and are more or less what the bird deparment here is known for. This years chick is that fuzzy spot just to right of the tree. He looks pretty much like a dull adult, with a leg warmer stuck on his neck. Adult storks don't make any vocalizations, the only sound they make is when then clap their bill together. The one in the foreground is the male, and the one on the left is the female. The females have yellow eyes, and that's the only difference in their coloration.
