This tree is down in the bayou by Lafitte, a tiny town south of New Orleans. It was named for 2 pirate brothers who lived in New Orleans and plotted to rescue Napoleon from exile and bring him to a house down in the quarter. That house is now one of the oldest running bars in the country. Anyway, this tree wasn't always like this, it grew atop of a mound of clamshells discarded by the natives back in the day, which were later mined out by the cajuns for grinding up into cement.
